NASA gives glimpse of world's most realistic flight simulator

NASA’s VMS – Vertical Motion Simulator in simple words is the greatest realistic flight simulator that a video game player has ever fantasized of. One of the most important and popular uses of this one of its kind simulator is to simulating space shuttles before they are sent on missions.

Though this use of the simulator is nearing its end, with the last shuttle that it’ll fly scheduled to be in 2011, scientists are busy with intense research in order to extend the time period of its use. The simulator rises to a height of six stories and traffics a sealed cab crossway with three axes with pilots inside it.

The system consisting of mirrors and sound cues is capable of providing the pilot with realistic cues. This system has the capacity to simulate almost every kind of aircrafts including helicopters, fighter jets etc. the cues delivered to the pilot provide him the most realistic understanding only devoid of real operation of the aircraft. The simulator also provides the pilot with training and is also adept of being personalized according to the perceptibility of the pilot.
