Hastings Woman Suffering from Banana Phobia

A curious case has erupted in Hastings where a woman named Fran Dando has banana phobia and merely the sight of this yellow fruit can cause havoc for her.

The woman, who is 21 years old, gets panic-struck on seeing the banana. She starts getting hyperventilate, have sweating and in severe cases, she also vomits.

Telling the occurrence of this phobia to East Sussex, Fran said that she contracted with this fear when she was seven years old and felt some slimy thing underneath her body. It was actually banana, planted by her brother as a prank. It scared her and she screamed for her mother.

"It is such a nonsensical fear, so of course people take the mickey. Some of my mates once planted one in my bag. I think they thought it would help me face my fear”, Fran said.

She also told that she could not even read something for her son Harrison, if it mentions banana and the strange fact is that her son likes bananas. But, she never denies him bananas. In order to pick them up, she uses blanket or rubber gloves.

She, however, is trying to recover herself from such a phobia and has made some progress, as two years back she could not even handle banana with gloves.
