Intel set to close deal with Infineon, suggest reports

News reports in the market suggest that Intel is moving closer to end its deal with Infineon Technologies. The Neubiberg, Germany-based Company is into the business of wireless and Intel is buying it so that it is able to make its position stronger in this sector.

Analysts also say that the deal will help Intel have a stronger footing in the smartphone market as well. This will be a new challenge for the company which is into the business of, making chips and is largest in the world in its field.

Reports also suggested that the two companies can announce the deal by as close as by the end of this week. News that appeared on the website of Bloomberg has also suggested that Infineon is looking to earn as much as $1.9 billion through this deal.

Earlier reports had suggested that it will be by the end of August that the deal will reach its final stages. No comments, however, came from either of the two parties. Besides Intel, Samsung Electronics and Broadcom are also eyeing Infineon. This is because that chip that it makes in used in smartphones.
