Mars Hoax Spread on Internet like a Malicious Virus

Mars hoax is spreading on the internet like some sort of malicious virus, as it has an eye catching title "Mars Spectacular" and comes in the form of e-mail message.

The virus in the form of e-mail message infects everyone in one’s address book and pop up from an unknown source.

The email has been passed on to several numbers of people, who are unable to prevent it from forwarding to other people in their address book. Sometimes, the message turns into a complete PowerPoint presentation, which has bright and colorful graphics

The PowerPoint presentation also has colorful and bright graphics, which gives it a look of an authentic message.

It has been declared in this e-mail that planet Mars will come closer to the Earth and will appear as large and bright as the moon on August 27 and the spectators will get the opportunity to sight of the Red Planet.

The Mars hoax took the advantage of the historically real close pass of Mars by Earth on August 27, 2003. That night some great images of Mars were clicked through the Hubble Space Telescope.

However, it was not still looking as large and bright as moon. It appeared nothing more than an enormously bright yellowish-orange star to the naked eye.
