Microsoft Sets Aside Half a Billion Dollars to Promote Windows 7 Phone

Microsoft has announced that it is allocating a huge budget for the promotion and distribution of the awaited Windows 7 Phone, which is expected to hit the U. S. markets by the fall. Microsoft added that the budget would be around half a billion dollars.

According to TechCrunch, the budget is not that huge in comparison to that used during the launch of Windows XP. The tech website also stated that Microsoft wants to ensure that the Windows 7 Phone is gaining the proper reception. Therefore, the computer software giant will not mind a couple of millions more being added to the marketing costs.

Although the Windows 7 Phone does not need that much advertisement, as according to the figures, the users are highly expectant of this new smartphone. However, the Company would require the products to have the decent platform that would guarantee that the Company would maintain the 13% market share of smartphone.

Offering the right market atmosphere and the right smartphone are two additional things that Microsoft does best. The competition would not madden until the beginning of next year when the users get the chance to identify the Windows 7 Phone themselves.
