According to recent reports, the chief of Vodafone, Vittorio Colao is looking for a buyer for the company's 3.2% stake in China Mobile which could be worth 4 billion pounds.
The Vodafone boss has declared to sell the 3.2% stake to any single buyer or to sell it on the open market. As per Mr. Colao, he wants the deal to be completed in next few weeks before the most awaited strategy update of the company in which the future direction of the company will be decided.
After two years of joining as the CEO of Vodafone by replacing Arun Sarin, Colao has committed to end the global ambitions of Vodafone with a much focused approach.
In the company's weekend report, the chief of the company has informed its investors that the firm was looking to invest more in Europe, Africa and India.
Before the execution of the plan the company chief needs to solve the long standing issue of Vodafone's 45% minority stake of in its joint venture Verizon Wireless of the US.
China Mobile is the largest mobile operator in the world and by selling its stake Vodafone would earn handsome money for the execution of its expansion plans.
