Canadian Doctors Work on Emotion Based Policy

It is something unexpected that doctors of Canada are working on emotion-based policy and are devoid of evidence.

The country will suffer immensely, if the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will not defend the evidence-based policy.

Delegates of CMA voted 84% for a ban on mixed martial arts (MMA) at the annual conference, which took place earlier this month.

"This so-called 'sport' is savage and brutal and its aim is the disability of the opponent completely”, a news release quoted a CMA former-President.

An appeal to the emotion can be made effective by using the words "brutal" and "savage"; however, there is no evidence to prove it.

As the members of this prestigious organization are advocating the criminal acts of a major North American sport, so they must be having the strong evidences with them to support their position.

When the Vancouver Province was questioned over the deaths in the ring of mixed martial arts, the B.C. doctor behind the resolution said that he do not know anything.

There is a record of two deaths in MMA but UFC is not involved. However, effective steps are being taken by the UFC for the safety measures for its fighters, which would be helpful for the medical profession.
