Seniors Still Have Many Activities to Do

On 16 September, members of the 55-Plus Senior Citizen Club, Nashwaaksis will meet at the Senior Centre, 112 Johnston Ave.

The club has the membership of the NBSCF and they meet every Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. At the meeting, new members are welcomed and all of them play a game of cards with a cup of tea.

The entry level fitness program is Fabulous Fifty and Firm Exercise and it is also suitable for many individuals.

There are various types of exercises for the fitness programs like gentle range of motion exercises, which include work with light-hand weights, working against light resistance and in order to prevent fall, there are postural and balance exercises.

The program is held twice in a week and the next program is going to start from September 7 and the timings will be 10-11 a.m.

Even the seniors are provided with the classes of oil painting, Watercolour and acrylic in session of 10 weeks from September to November.

On Tuesday, Betty Nicholson teaches about oil painting and on Thursday she takes classes of watercolors and acrylic.

On Wednesday, water color classes are taken by Geneva Murphy. Participants are required to carry their own materials for the classes.
