Cougar Energy Blames Government for its Worsening Business Condition

Cougar Energy Ltd., a global energy firm has claimed that the Queensland Government has been unable to properly deal with a water contamination scare. In addition, it highlighted that the sheer negligence and failure shown by the Government is likely to result in the collapse of the Company itself.

Cougar Energy was witnessed floating in troubling waters following its plant near Kingaroy, Queensland been engulfed by a water contamination scare and consequently it was forced to close the doors of its pilot underground coal gasification (UCG) project in July.

The situation is so worsened that the Company has directly stated that it needs assistance from the Queensland Government so as to continue with the working of the plant. Besides, it seeks the Government to do away with the environmental protection that it has imposed on the plant.

It is absolutely wrong on the part of the state Government that did not lift the restriction on the plant working, despite that the test results performed have relieved them of the ground water contamination scare, Linc Energy Managing Director Peter Bond highlighted to the AAP.

However, the Cougar Energy shares have been permitted to trade by the Australian Securities Exchange from Thursday.
