Although it is difficult to predict for health officers that when the flu season might take a gigantic turn, they have been demanding people to get vaccinated against the virus as soon as possible.
The Health Department in Cherokee is going to initiate the process of flu vaccination season with Drive-by Flu Shot Clinic on 23rd September.
The clinic would be open from half past seven in the morning till 6 in the evening at Canton Elementary School at 712 Marietta Highway. The cost of vaccination would be $20.
People aged 13 and above can get themselves jabbed with the vaccination at the clinic. Adult populace, aged 19 and over, can as well receive the Tdap vaccination without having to pay for the shot, as informed by Public Information Officer for the North Georgia Health District, Jennifer Moorer.
Mrs. Moorer said that the department has a supply of 6,000 vaccinations, which at the same time will be available at the Canton and Woodstock offices of the health department.
She said that flu vaccination this year would help at protecting against flu strain, plus the H1N1 swine flu strain.
She too said that evaluating the toughness to be shown by the looming flu season is tricky.
