400, Ferrari 458 Italias have been recalled by the world famous carmaker after incidents of Ferraris catching fire from around the World, had been reported. The incidents which have left the carmaker flushed face with embarrassment were first reported from Paris in the month of July, when an owner while driving his car noticed flames in the rear panel of his car, though luckily a passerby who was handy with a fire extinguisher was able to douse the flames.
Later on reports of Italias catching fire were reported from Switzerland, China and the United States of America. The pioneering carmakers whose Italia models are owned by people like Eric Clapton, Music Artist, Louis Saha, Footballer and Chris Evans’.
After a thorough enquiry it was found that the problem was caused by an adhesive that is used in the wheel-arch assemblies, which would in specific situations, begin to overheat and later on catch fire. And in some one-off circumstances the melting adhesive led to the heat shield, the liner which protects the engine to change its form and move closer to the exhaust which would cause the lining to catch fire.
In order to make-up for the difficulties caused by the fires to the owners whose cars were caught on fire, Ferrari will present the sufferers with a new model, people at Ferrari stated. The 458 Italia reportedly costs £170,000
