The British firm behind the ball tracking technology Hawk-Eye has been put up for sale. The owner wants to attract a big firm which can help the technology and company to expand its business and implementation.

The Hawk-Eye technology is currently used in the Cricket and Tennis but the owners are hoping that the FIFA will adopt this technology very soon. According to the reports the sale procedure for the company will begin in next week.

The Winchester based Hawk-Eye is a relatively small company with profits up to 1.1 million pounds per year despite of its high profile brand name. The current shareholders of the company are hoping for a large company to invest in the firm because it needs money to expand its business.

The shareholders are mainly aiming at the big broadcaster and sports rights companies. The company is hoping for a profit of 1.8 million pounds in the next year mainly because of its expansion in the tennis world.

The owner Mark Getty is a big fan of cricket and his company Wisden bought the Hawk-Eye before four years.
