The farmers will soon start tagging their vehicles, following the thefts they have now been facing for some time. The National Farmers' Union is said to have paid for the cost involved when the livery was being changed on the John Deere tractor worth £50,000.

These tags would be made of some special element, which will be visible only under UV light.

The Lincolnshire Police has therefore advised the farmers to tag their vehicles and they yesterday, have revealed the £50,000 John Deere 6630, which entailed flashing blue light, police stripes and badges. The Lincolnshire Police is now ready to fight against the agricultural crime that has been threatening farmers.

This distinctive paint to some extent has relieved the police too, as the farmers have already started to go for these electronic tags and hence any vehicle if stolen will now be easily traceable.

The drive by the Lincolnshire Police to diminish 'acquisitive crime' has brought in their own Lincolnshire Police's John Deere 6630 tractor for the Operation Fusion.

This is likely to attract the farmers in the market, auctions and events all through the month of September and bring to light the fight that has been instilled against rural crime.

"However there are steps that individuals can take to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of rural crime and this month's initiative is all about making them aware of the deterrents available", said Chief Inspector, Phil Vickers, Community Safety Officer in Lincolnshire Police's east division.
