While one may say that the Toyota Etios will be a little late in entering the small car segment but the company considers it as a late mover advantage in the Indian market.
It is to be mentioned here that the industry watchers expect the company to price the model lower than the Swift and it is expected that it will bring high volumes for Toyota in the Indian market.
According to the sources, the music maestro A. R. Rahman will add his magic to the communication of Etios in the domestic circuit. As per Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director (marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motors the company has studies the Indian market very extensively and hence has made the product as per the feedback received from the Indian consumer.
Moreover, Singh pointed out the fact that as the company is expecting to sell close to 64K units in the first year itself, the company is surely confident of the success of the model in the Indian market. It may be noted here that the company is expecting to sell close to 1.4 lakh units in the year 2011 which will include all its models but primarily the volumes will be pulled by the Etios model only.
