Many people are planning for their weekend that comes along the Labor Day holiday. As told by AAA, there have been expectations that the number of Americans that would be travelling on Labor Day holiday would rise 10% from the last year.
Glen MacDonell, Director of AAA Travel Services, "While media reports on the state of the U. S. economy are mixed, many Americans are still interested in taking one more trip as the summer travel season comes to a close".
Last year, people, who travelled 50 miles away during this specific time period, figured 31.3 million, which the agency predicts to be 34.4 million, this year.
The rise would be as much as 10.8% that would be experienced by Ohio and its surrounding states. The distance will be covered through driving by around 91% of the travelers, as it is cost effective. As estimated, around $266 will be spent by Ohioans on small vacations, while $700 will be spent across the nation, on an average.
Also, there would be increase in the air travelling by 4.6%. The gas prices will be similar to the figures of last year.
The Americans will travel an average distance of 635 miles. There would be more traffic on the roads, with cars of travelers and police flooding the roads.
