£2Bn Worth of Taxes Still Unpaid, Tax Authorities to Sent Out Letters for Paymen

Tax authorities have sent out letters to people who have erred in the payment of taxes for the past 2 years under the Pay as You Earn system.

According to the tax authorities, 1.4 million people still have to pay pending taxes and would be receiving the letters shortly for the payment of taxes.

The estimates state that 1.4 million people would have to dish out another £1500 each on an average. In further information released by the tax authorities 4.3 million people seem to have over paid their due taxes and are about to be wealthier by 418 Pounds on an average.

In a funny and a contradicting situation though, some people are bound to receive notices for both underpayment and overpayment of taxes. The overpaid and underpaid taxes will be adjusted in the financial year 2011 - 2012.

In some relief for taxpayers who might have underpaid, the tax authorities have stated that they would consider writing off the taxes due if people are able to prove that all the information required has been provided by them to the authorities.

The letters, which have already been sent out to a fraction of people would arrive at their doorstep by Tuesday, while the pending letters would reach somewhere around Tuesday.
