MeeGo developers released some photos of the MeeGo 1.1 handset, which is to be released for public users at local retailers by October 2010.
The screenshots give a glimpse of the operating system (OS) offered by MeeGo, the resulting Company of the merger between Nokia's Maemo Platform and Intel's Moblin Operating System. The screenshots demonstrated the user interface of the OS’ stock version, yet it still managed to catch the customers’ attention, giving them an inside view on the future of the Nokia devices.
The screenshots could be accessed through the MeeGo blog, showing the handset’s features of the amount of card overlap, zoom, and the speed of carousel, in addition to two different multitasking views.
However, this is just the start, as according to the MeeGo developers, the screenshots do not include all the features that have been added to the handset.
In addition to the previously mentioned benefits offered by the MeegGo 1.1 Nokia, the handset would be supplied with a lock screen mechanism that would be activated when the phone is on idle. This lock screen would be providing the users with information menu, similar to the quick launch, as it would include the missed calls, text messages, email messages and IM, and of course the clock and the date.
