The West Lafayette firefighters turned up in great numbers to support the ‘Fill the Boot collection’ campaign; for some it has become a regular practice.
Many firefighters gathered at the crossroad 52 and Cumberland Avenue with their boots in hand in order to collect donations.
One of the firefighters named Jones said that despite weak economic condition, people have been very generous in donating money for the event.
A 7-year-old girl named Isabelle is suffering from congenital muscular dystrophy because of myosin deficiency. When she was seven months old, her parents came to know that her body is not functioning normally. Although she can move her hands and feet, but the muscles are too weak.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association has monetarily helped Isabelle and her parents. Her mother says MDA has been a great support for us and Isabelle is also very happy because she is able to attend the summer camp along with other kids.
