Just like accidents and mishaps never take a holiday, deeds to satisfy the soul won't take a holiday either as long as we have people still coming out on holidays to donate blood.
The heartwarming scene could be witnessed on Monday in Burlington. Where many Red Cross workers could be seen taking out blood from donors. In what was being actually done was platelet donation. Platelet donation consumes up to one and a half hours and Dennis Hill was there ever ready to donate his time and his platelets for a good cause.
Dennis from Essex Junction started the donation of platelet after his mother was diagnosed with cancer seven years ago.
He further stated that because of the condition of his mother he knows that platelets don't have a long shelf life, so he makes it a point to donate his platelets as often as he possibly could.
Dennis further stated that even if it meant taking out sometime from his holiday it was worth it because it actually makes you feel good about the holiday season.
It was also informed by Red Cross that they require O-type of blood the most as it can be transfused into patients with any blood type.
