Indonesian Toddler Initiates a New, Improved Life

A five-year-old lad from Indonesia, who was recently, witnessed grabbing headlines over his smoking habits as a toddler is reported to have given away his bad habit. Besides, he has now started with his education and is attending school.

A video featuring Sandi Adi Susanto with a cigarette, blowing smoke rings while talking dirty, was posted on Youtube in March. The video landed the watchers is a huge shock.

Following the revelation of his deteriorated lifestyle, a school is reported to have offered the small boy free education. In addition, the school has promised to facilitate a home to him and his family inside the school complex.

Unlike the devastating scenario of slums, such a poised and safe environment is cited to assist him in living a new and improved life.

Moreover, the boy has been overwhelmed with support being offered to him from the local government and the National Commission for Child Protection. Susanto has been sent to Syaiful Anwar hospital for four months for getting treatment for his addiction.

"We always keep him away from cigarettes, we give him toys", quoted the staff at the hospital.

Over 3% of children in the age bracket of 3 to 15 years are regular smokers, claims World Health Organization.
