TD Bank profit rises to 29 percent

Toronto-Dominion Bank has declared its financial results for the first-quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. Toronto-Dominion Bank is one of the leading Banks in US and is America's sixth largest bank in terms of number of branches.

The company has informed that it has managed to register a striking net profit hike in the third quarter of the current fiscal year. The company has said that there has been a growth of 29% in its net profit figure for the quarter under review.

The Canadian retail banking operations has performed well for the Bank and it has helped it to post a good amount of profit this time.

The earning profit of the firm has gone up to 1.18 billion Canadian (US$1.12 billion) or $1.29 Canadian a share ($1.23) during the reviewed quarter. There has been a reasonable hike in the net earning figure.

For the similar quarter in the previous year, the company has recorded a profit earning of $912 million Canadian (US$868 million), or $1.01 Canadian (US96 cents) per share.
