A research has revealed that in order to attain motherhood, women are willing to splurge £15,000 on IVF. More so, one in ten women are ready to pay over £50,000. These women are so obsessed with the desire to have a baby that they would give up everything to collect money for fertility treatment.
About 90% of the women are ready to cut short their everyday expenditures and even trim their savings so as to get their treatment done. While 93% would not go for a holiday, 94% will avoid going out for dining, and 95% would delay purchasing a new car.
Also, it was found that 93% would not shop for new clothes, whilst 95% would decrease their investment in pension schemes. A majority of them would put in extra working hours for added income, while some might sell off their goods to become a mother.
The survey that involved over 2,000 women between the age group 30 and 45 was conducted for Red magazine.
Sam Baker from the magazine said, “Our report shows that women are prepared to make huge financial sacrifices as they do whatever it takes to conceive, cutting back on holidays or pensions in order to boost their chances of having family”.
She remarked that in spite of the fact that the nation is in the middle of a financial uncertainty, the fertility industry has not been affected by it.
