A Family Expresses its Gratitude to the Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support has always proved itself as the best when it comes to helping people suffering from cancer. This time, two members of a family paid their gratitude to Macmillan Cancer Support, as they got the charity from this group in their hour of need.

Pam Yates, who is a mother of five, was diagnosed with cancer and just after nine days her father-in-law Tony Yates was informed by the doctors that he has few months to live.

Tony Yates was struggling with throat and stomach cancer, while the retired shop worker Pam was fighting breast cancer. Both were undergoing chemotherapy after the bombshell diagnosis last May.

Unfortunately, Tony who was 80-year-old and a retired electrician died in January, but Pam has not given up, as she is fighting and hoping to be fine after her third round of surgery in December.

Macmillan Cancer Support, which is based at Macclesfield Hospital, fully supported Pam and her father-in-law in the surgery rounds and diagnosis.

Kerrie Glover, who is a daughter of Pam, has now decided to help the charity by organizing a charity auction and autumn ball to express their thankfulness to the nurses, who lent their hand in their hour of need.

"They are with you every step of the way. They are always at the other end of the phone. If I phoned them now, I know they would come by the end of the day", said Pam.
