Malnutrition has come off to be a huge problem facing the modern World, but despite various organizations fighting malnutrition, they have not been able to slaughter the dragon.
According to the data available, out of all the children suffering malnutrition in the world, one-third of the children are Indians. India might have had extraordinary growth over the last couple of years, but malnutrition has still not been erased from this country.
Another fact that has come to light is that fifty-five percent children who are about to join school weigh less than what is recommended.
Undernourishment is a major cause of concern, a predominant reason for malnutrition which affects the physical and mental growth in a child. According to researchers, it has been found that the amount of nutrition a child receives in infancy or before 3 years of age, plays a vital role in how children lead their lives further on later in time.
India is a country, which vastly relies on the human capital that is available and would need to fight this deadly condition as quality human capital can only be attained when children receive good nourishment and good education.
Companies throughout in India seemed to have realized the importance of human capital with more and more Indian conglomerates making efforts to feed the ever hungry masses in rural India. The Britannia Nutrition Foundation has been providing iron biscuits to around 150,000 children in Hyderabad as a part of their mid-day meal scheme, which has been introduced to fight the ever increasing clutches of mal-nutrition.
