Novel Research: Tomatoes Can Keep Prostate Cancer at Bay

A new research is of the suggestion that men could guard themselves from developing prostate cancer, given that they consume tomatoes every day.

A group of researchers at the University of Naples is suggesting that eating tomatoes on a daily basis could help protect against prostate cancer and slow down the growth of tumor in a person, who may be at present is suffering from it.

The study involved mice that was bred to be heritably vulnerable to cancer exhibited that the ones, which were fed with a regular and daily dose of food rich with tomato extract were less probable to fall sick.

There have been a number of studies regarding the health problem and this is one of the latest on the list to see if tomatoes helped in combating the disease.

The results have been contrary at certain points, where some have suggested that consuming tomatoes benefitted whilst some said that it did not.

In the study, researchers made a comparison between mice that were fed with food containing tomato extract and the ones that were not given the same food.

Tomato -fed mice survived longer than the ones that were not fed with tomato extract food.
