Fox's 'American Idol' for the second night in a row, managed to have virtually the same audience as the first night, upping its ratings amongst the younger viewer segment, which is known to be the most fickle.
Certainly, it helped that Wednesday is not Fox's competition's strongest night, with low viewer numbers for ABC's three hours of 'Lost' repeats and NBC fared even worse with a repeat of its rookie drama 'Knight Rider' from 'Law & Order: SVU'.
'Old Christine' and 'Gary Unmarried' helped CBS fare better than the others, putting it in second place, while the laffers, like Eye's Tuesday dramas, retained over 90% of their audience, despite the challenge of 'American Idol'.
