Angelina Jolie came to north-western Pakistan this Tuesday to pay a visit to the victims of a recent flood, which is apparently the biggest natural disaster in the history of the country.
Jolie is the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She paid those mothers a visit who have lost their kids and also an old couple who are scared that they will never succeed in rebuilding their destroyed home.
Jolie maintained the local culture by wearing a long black robe along with a black headscarf having a thin red stripe.
Jolie told the reporters regarding her visit to a refugee camp near Jalozai that she was extremely moved by the victims’ conditions and that she hoped to be able to do something for them during her stay and bring the situation of all the needy people in Pakistan to everybody’s attention.
It is hoped by officials that Jolie’s two-day visit will help rake in more and more donations for the flood-affected country. 1700 people have lost their lives so far due to the flood, and a further 17 million have been affected by it.
