Internet giant Google has announced to bring the web o to TV screen and this news came just after a week of the new version of Apple TV was launched. Google has decided to launch it TV service in the US in this autumn and it will start the service worldwide from next year.
The chief executive of Google, Eric Schmidt said the internet giant had taken the decision keeping the 117 billion pounds global TV advertising market in mind. Google wants to add revenues from both the TV and online advertising.
Google generated 22.9 billion dollars through online advertisement only in 2009. Apple launched its new version of Apple TV to allow people to rent TV shows and movies. It looks like the TV has been emerged as the new battlefield for both the firms who were competing for the smartphone and tablet PC markets.
Google has also announced partnerships with the computer making firms dealing with tablet PCs. According to the chief executive of Google, people will be able to browse internet through their television sets by the Google TV service.
