The computer giant Hewlett Packard has filed a case against Mark Hurd in an attempt to avoid his joining to the database giant Oracle as he was the former head of HP.
Oracle announced the joining of Mark Hurd as its co-president on Monday night. But HP has said Mark Hurd's joining to the rival firm Oracle would cause its most valuable confidential information and trade secrets to be unveiled before Oracle.
Mr. Hurd had resigned from HP in last month because of the pressure from the board of HP and he is a friend of Larry Ellison, the chief executive of Oracle.
Mr. Hurd was forced to resign from the company by the company's board because of the falling profits and he also faced an investigation of sexual harassment before leaving that company.
But Mr. Hurd has denied of any wrongdoing and was backed by his fried Mr. Ellison during his difficult period. Both of them are well known friends in the technology industry. According to HP, Oracle will gain a strategic benefit from this joining and will be able to exploit the knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the company.
