It may have been difficult in the previous year to get enough flu vaccinations in Dallas County, but this time, there would be enough.
Health officers will start the distribution process of vaccines from today in the county. This year, the vaccination against flu virus has been recommended for anyone above 6 months of age.
The flu jab is going to offer protection against H1N1 virus and in some cases kids might need to be jabbed twice, with the shot.
Dallas County's main clinic is off Stemmons Freeway that is just north of Wycliff. The vaccination is available from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. Monday till Friday. Shots cost $20 for adults and $5 for kids.
Details on the release of vaccination plans are yet to be heard from other counties.
Health officers are firm that their preparations to deal with the flu season are well in place.
Almost 160 million dosages of the flu shots are available, which is twice the number that had been used in the previous year in the U. S.
Northern Health Department Spokesperson, Emily Greshman Wherle said that in the preceding year, no less than 80 million people had been jabbed with H1N1 or swine flu vaccine.
