Cisco takes care of Wireless LAN controller issues

Cisco Systems has offered security updates that takes care of vulnerabilities associated with Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) and Wireless Services Module (WiSM) devices.

The tech news site Softpedia, states that the software update has taken care of all of the seven bugs, and out of which two were adhered with DoS threats, three belonged to privilege vulnerabilities and two are ACL bypass holes.

Cisco spokesperson in the wireless LAN controllers advisory explained: "These devices communicate with controller-based access points over any Layer 2 (Ethernet) or Layer 3 (IP) infrastructure using the Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP) and the Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) protocol."

The enterprise software service provider has upgraded its advisory panel with a complete offering of WLC software versions, in addition with vulnerabilities that can easily affect the system.

Users at the same time can get updated software from Cisco's websites or in that case any third party agency that is based on user's service contracts.
