Automaker, Volkswagen AG has announced that it has made a new person head of its US operations. Jonathan Browning is 51 years old and was earlier involved with General Motors as a sales executives.
The German car maker is also having a lot of expectations from the US operations and has said that it expects the sales from here to increase substantially during this year itself.
Meanwhile, Browning is going to join Volkswagen after being in service with GM for nine years and was involved with the European side. He was heading the European sales division and also used to look after services and marketing.
Now, he will be in-charge of the ambitious strategy that Volkswagen has laid down for almost tripling of the sales of the total sales that the company has seen in the country. It wants to make the number to cross the one million mark by 2018.
It also wants its Audi luxury division to be able to sell, as a separate unit, more than double of what it is selling as of now. This means more than 200,000 vehicles every year.
