National Express bags extension rights
Dear Finch

According to the recent announcement, the leading rail and bus operator has recently said that it has been given an extension by the Department of Transport to run its services for another 28 weeks. It is to be mentioned here that the contract for the company will expire in March next year but the extension is considered as a sign for improved relations among the two parties.

Some experts are of a view that the major reason of the improved relations among the duo is because of the coalition government coming to power.

It may be noted here that the labour government had warned to strip the national express out of the East Anglia and C2C franchisees.

The warning came as a punishment for backing out from the contract of running the 1.4 billion pound worth East Coast Main Line. Dear Finch, the recently appointed CEO of the National Express has recently said that it was not possible to do six months back.

Moreover, Finch also mentioned the fact that East Anglia has done a tremendous job in tough times and it earns 3-4% margin on the East Anglia.
