Second Snowmobiler To Die In British Columbia Avalanche

RCMP with the assistance of other snowmobilers managed to locate the body of a man snowmobiling on Babcock Mountain near Tumbler Ridge, about 400-kilometres northeast of Prince George, with five other friends. While the other five snowmobilers were at the bottom of the hill, he was high-marking i. e. going as high up a slope as possible, when the snow at the side of the hill broke free on Saturday and buried him.

RCMP unable to revive the man after locating him, confirm the 33-year old Edmonton man was killed in the avalanche, near Valemont, in north-eastern B. C., on Friday, but hve not released his name.

This season, 15-snowmobilers have been killed due to avalanches.
