Little Debbie Snacks Recalls Peanut Butter Crackers

Several peanut-butter products have been recalled because of a potential link to a salmonella outbreak. On Sunday, company that sells Little Debbie snacks announced a recall of peanut butter crackers because of the same reason.

This recall came one day after the government asked the consumers to avoid cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods with peanut butter until health officials found out more about the contamination. Hitherto, the recall does not seem to have affected the purchase and consumption much as a vast majority of the consumers do not seem to be much concerned.

Ironically, Salmonella bacteria are the most common source of food poisoning in the U. S., causing diarrhea, cramping and fever.

Till now it has caused 470 people to fall sick in 43 states. At least 90 have been hospitalized and six have lost their life owing to the outbreak.
