Katy Perry Roped in for a Guest Appearance on The Simpsons

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that pop star Katy Perry has been roped in for a guest appearance for an episode of Fox's The Simpsons, which will be based on Christmas.

The 25-year-old singer will be essaying the role of bartender Moe's girlfriend in a live-action scene, which sports the show’s crew as puppets.

It is reported that Katy Perry will be joined by Homer and The Simpsons group in a version of no_filmThe 39 Days of Christmas during the episode that is called "The Fight Before Christmas". It is slated to go live on Dec., on Fox.

"In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, The Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry", Executive Producer, Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Perry, who is famous for her whimsical songs, revealing dresses and eccentric style, was recently in news for “Sesame Street" incident.

A video clip of Perry was seen on YouTube, where she was donning a wedding dress. In the clip, Perry tells Elmo that she would like to play dress up with him, but Elmo feels shy.

She then sings her own hit single, "Hot and Cold", to show her annoyance that Elmo is not willing to play with her.

Soon after the clip appeared, parents got angry. Perry was rebuked for being overtly sexy for "Sesame Street" and that her attire was too revealing.
