Foxtel showcases the IPTV service

Under a move which was much-awaited in the industry, Foxtel has recently announced its IPTV via the iQ2. It is to be mentioned here that the service will empower the consumers to download TV and movies via the Internet connection on the box.

While the recently launched service is expected to supplement the existing Foxtel iQ2 On Demand service, it will now offer close to hundreds of extra movies and up to a thousand TV shows.

According to the announcement made the company, the TV shows are available for AU$2.95 each and users also have an option of downloading the entire series as well of famous serials like Mad Men, Summer Heights High and Australia's Next Top Model. On the other end, the downloaded movies are now available in a separate Movie Library on Demand for AU$3.95 each.

It may be noted here this is the first time since Foxtel has enables the usage of internet content and Foxtel's Patrick Delany said last year that the iQ2Go service will go live this year. However, no word is still official out on the development of the same.
