Europe's first 3D TV Channel Has Started its Showcase

Europe's first 3D TV channel has been introduced by Sky and will mark its beginning with the broadcast of the Ryder Cup.

Only those with Sky+ HD package, a 3D-enabled television and 3D glasses will be able to access to the station.

The station has been operating since April 3, but it showcased promotional footages of 3D, other than 14 Premier League football matches and other numerous sports games. After its launch, the Premier League and the live sport will continued to be telecasted.

In the weekend, Sky will exhibit three days of live Ryder Cup and two 3D films, Bolt and Monster vs. Aliens on its 3D station. Other movies that will be showcased on the channel before the Christmas include Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince and Ice Age – Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

In the peak time, the station will show first-run content and for the rest of the day, it has Sky’s ‘best-of 3D content’ in store.

Virgin also initiated a 3D Movies On Demand channel, earlier this week, just before three days of Sky’s launch. On it, the content will be provided by making payments. As for now, it offers one movie naming StreetDance 3D for £5.99.
