While denying claims of violations on copyrights and patents, Google Inc. (GOOG) has reacted by charging at Oracle Corp. (ORCL), that Oracle is now rescinding its support to open-source licensing policies.
The Judge at U. S. District Court, for the Northern District of California, was asked by the Google to declare invalid, the patents in question and dismiss the Oracle's lawsuit against Google.
In August, a suit was filed against Google by Oracle, regarding violation of the intellectual property of the software firm's Java platform by Google's Android mobile operating system. When Sun Microsystems was bought by Oracle, the Java platform was the part of the deal. Google has been accused of one count of copyright violation and seven counts of patent breaches.
On Monday, Google responded by pointing out, before the deal, Oracle had criticized Sun, regarding the licensing as a key part of the Java platform.
Now, after the deal, the open source community's requests to fully open-source the Java platform has been disregarded by the Oracle. Oracle has accused the Google that they have chosen to use Java Platform, without a license and have proceeded with modifying the code, which is not compliant with Java's Central design principle.
