Retail giant Wal-Mart will soon start offering the Apple iPad

According to a recent MacRumors report, retail giant Wal-Mart store will soon start offering the popular Apple iPad tablet computer; with some savvy Wal-Mart customers already reportedly having spotted the device on the shelves of a few Wal-Mart outlets.

The report about Wal-Mart selling the iPad marks yet another move by Apple in the direction of its ongoing attempts to expand the device's availability; and comes close on the heels of the last-week-announced availability of the device in Target's 1700 brick-and-mortar stores in the United States.

The MacRumors report about the iPad coming to Wal-Mart substantiates a May statement by the store's VP of entertainment in the US, Gary Severson, who has then announced that the tablet will become available at the store "later" in 2010.

Going by a last-week-leaked `internal' email, the rumored launch date of the iPad in Wal-Mart stores is approaching very soon.

As per the leaked document revealing some of the notable details about Wal-Mart's iPad launch, Wal-Mart will likely sell all the six versions of the Apple tablet - including the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities in WiFi as well as 3G versions.

Furthermore, in addition to offering all six iPad models, Wal-Mart will also be offering a wide array of extras like the iPad camera connect; USB charger; and AppleCare for the iPad.
