Rovio launches special Halloween version of Angry Birds for Apple iOS devices

Close on the heels of the last week announcement of the ‘Angry Birds’ version for the Android handsets, Rovio Thursday said that it has launched a special Halloween edition of the hugely addictive mobile game foe Apple’s iOS devices.

The hugely popular ‘Angry Birds’ game essentially has the gamers slingshot flightless birds into towers. The popularity of the game is evident from the fact that it was the top-ranking download – with over six million downloads – in the Apple’s App Store for many months.

The launch of the Angry Birds Halloween indicates that Rovio intends continuing its development of the franchise beyond the free, ad-supported version of Angry Birds for Android.

To be sold separately from the classic game, the Halloween edition of the game costs $0.99 from the App Store, exclusively for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. In addition, an HD iPad version will sell for $1.99.

According to the details shared by Rovio, the 45 new levels that the Halloween edition of the game features are three-fold more than the usual updates. The game has seven birds in an eerie montage, which abounds in spooky music, ghosts, ghoblins, and spirits, and pumpkins waiting to be smashed together with the regular green pigs.

Talking about the game, Rovio said: “Every aspect of the game has been recreated in the spirit of Halloween, so expect new spooky theme music, hair-raising graphical themes, and puzzling pumpkin-smashing action.”
