Baidu Sees Increase in Sales, Powered by an Ever Increasing Customer Base

The internet search engine, Baidu, which offers its services in Chinese, witnessed revenue for the Company rising to twice the revenue it had earned in the previous year. The reason behind the windfall profits is being stated to be because of the inception of online marketing customers.

One of the most popular search engines in Chinese, Baidu, saw revenue rising to $337.2 million, a jump of 76% to the year before. The increase in earnings was due to the customer base for the Company rising to 272,000, a rise in customers of around 25.9%, in comparison to the same time period a year earlier.

The revenue earned per customer also saw an impressive increase with marginal profits rising by an exceptional 10.7%, in comparison to the previous quarter. Revenue per customer was rounded off at $1,241.

An analyst with RBC Capital Markets, Stephen Ju, while talking about the strong strides by the Chinese Company stated that it was important to notice the complimentary market for Baidu in China. He added that as the number of people using internet kept on increasing, the number of customers also kept on rising for the Chinese search market.

Mr. Ju also expressed that the results declared by Baidu, had far crossed expectations and has conquered the very high bar that was already marked for the Company.
