Flyers travelling from Baltimore to selected destinations are in for a nice surprise, as AirTran Airways have announced an offer they cannot resist. The airliner would be offering frequent flyers with AirTran double mileage credit, provided they travel to selected cities.
The destinations that have been shortlisted for the offer, include Boston; Charlotte, N. C in Dayton, Dallas; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Huntsville, Rochester, New York, Portland, Maine and Fla.; Milwaukee; New Orleans; Rochester.
Those customers who are the members of the loyalty program with AirTran would benefit from the offer and would receive four credit points instead of two. However, the credit points would not help in contributing to elite status in the program.
According to further news available regarding the airliner, AirTran has come up with results that were below expectations due a hike in costs. The results for the flyer were announced on Friday.
However, AirTran did see a rise in revenue, in comparison to the year earlier, with income increasing to $36.2million in contrast to $10.4million in the previous year. However, profits for the Company were below expectations, with profits being reported at 12 cents a share, in comparison to expectations of 17 cents a share.
The revenue for the third quarter also saw an increase of 12%, with revenue jumping to $667.9million.
