The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) gave some recommendations regarding the treatment of Parkinson's after analysis of all the evidence regarding various kinds of treatments and medicines available.
NICE said that doctors should prescribe drugs after analyzing condition, needs and opinions about treatment of the each patient individually because different drugs are suitable for different persons. Most importantly people suffering from Parkinson's disease should see a specialist regularly in every two to three months regarding effect of their medicines.
NICE added that person suffering from Parkinson's disease should have a health care professional who can support them, provide information and visit them at home if necessary. Following types of therapy should be offered to them to help them cope with their symptoms. Physiotherapy should be offered to help with problems in walking and problems getting exercise, occupational therapy, to help with everyday activities including work, social life and personal care and speech and language therapy.
