Cable TV subscribers were a relieved lot, as an ongoing dispute between two major media Companies was resolved on Saturday evening. The end of the dispute means that people would be able to tune in to the game 3 of the World Series right on time.
The feud had occurred between Fox Broadcasting and Cablevision Systems Corp. on the issue of the amount of payment expected by Fox from Cablevision. The issue had been causing inconvenience to viewers, since the past two weeks.
Though, both the companies were successful in making peace regarding the situation, still the outcome of the solution has not gone well, with ether of the two giants. A statement issued by Cablevision has expressed unhappiness about the Federal Communications Commission's decision regarding not participating, in providing assistance to resolve the dispute. It has further accused Fox for using its power in the situation by upholding services for the time period.
The cable service provider further reasoned that the payment was made to Fox, as it felt that its customers should not suffer a lack of services, especially because of the World Series.
Cable customers and lawmakers have happened to be the worst sufferers because of the current situation, as broadcaster have started charging cable operators more. The increase in the fees has been because of a declining number of advertisements on television.
