Former multimedia leader Creative Labs has launched two tablets, the ZiiO 7 and the ZiiO 10, which are based on Android and costs as little as £200.
It is further said that both the models offer touchscreen display which comes with a stylus and runs on Android OS 2.1, in addition with Creative's very own ZiiStore application marketplace.
Interestingly, the usage of Creative Labs' offers 1GHz ZiiLabs ZMS-08 processor, which runs on ARM Cortex A8 and the company claims of having an in built audio technology based on its award winning X-Fi and Apt-X.
The small version of the device weighs only 400g, has a 7-inch 800x480 pixel screen and 8GB onboard storage. The dearer model weighs 650g, and has a 10-inch 1024x600 pixels screen, has 16GB onboard storage and costs £270.
Other specs are similar to that of a top-end smartphone; a front facing camera (but no rear camera), 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a built-in accelerometer, HDMI-out port, microphone and speaker and a microSD card reader. These devices support both audio and video formats including AVI, MKV, FLAC, OGG and MP4.
