Though, the actor's plans for writing a book are 'extremely premature', with no publisher and no dates, Annett Wolf, Patrick Swayze's representative and Jayme Phillips, his publicist reveals, the cancer-stricken actor intends to write a memoir, with Lisa, his wife collaborating with him on the book.
Battling pancreatic cancer, the 56-year-old actor of new A&E drama 'The Beast' was hospitalized earlier this month, after contracting pneumonia. With two years to live, the 'Dirty Dancing' star, in a lengthy interview told Barbara Walters, he was 'going through hell', because of the most virulent and deadly form of the cancer.
Swayze and his wife, Lisa Niemi, have not named a publisher or set a release date but Swayze's representative, Annett Wolf, confirmed that the actor and Niemi are working on a book.
Texas-born Swayze, who the son of a choreographer and dance school owner named Patsy Swayze, studied dancing at New York ballet schools, enjoying a film career in Hollywood , and also on Broadway. In 1975, he married Lisa Niemi, a student at his mother's dance school in Houston .
He is best known for his role as dance instructor Johnny Castle in 1987's hit film 'Dirty Dancing' and for 'Ghost', his 1990 blockbuster supernatural romance, opposite Demi Moore.
