In a move that reflects Hulu's gradual ramping up of the availability of its Hulu Plus platform, the company recently announced that access to Hulu Plus is now available for the existing owners of the 2010 models of Sony Bravia HDTVs.
In addition, the company also revealed that, next week, it intends making Hulu Plus - the much-heralded premium service of the video portal - available to PlayStation 3 owners who have a free PlayStation Network account. Already, just a few weeks back, a native Netflix application was made available on the PlayStation 3 consoles, allowing users a disk-less streaming of TV shows and movies.
Thus far, only the Sony console owners had access to Hulu Plus - an advantage that they have been availing since July -, as well as some select subscribers of PlayStation Plus.
According to a blog post by Hulu's Product Director Rob Wong on the company's site, Hulu users will 2010 models of Sony Bravia HDTVs no longer require the $9.99-per-month invitation to subscribe to Hulu Plus.
Going by the plans unveiled by Hulu, the near future will also witness the availability of Hulu Plus on several other products - including Blu-ray players; Blu-ray home theater systems; older Sony devices; the Xbox 360; Vizio HDTVs; TiVo digital video recorders; and probably even Roku players.
