In what is yet another story about the possible resurrection of Google's ill-fated Nexus One handset, a Thursday report on Phandroid revealed that a page published on the Best Buy website indicated that the US electronics retailer will soon offer a "Pure Google" handset called the "Nexus S."
Though the page referred to by Phandroid has now been taken down by Best Buy, it is being speculated that Google's Android-powered Nexus S handset will apparently not feature the kind of custom user interface (UI) that is applicable to the Android smartphones manufactured by companies like Motorola, HTC, and Samsung.
According to Phandroid, the specs leaked by the Best Buy website page also indicate that the Nexus S will likely feature the Android 2.3 version; and will therefore not support HSPA+.
The Best Buy page supposedly also mentioned that the new Google handset will come with some of the basic essentials of any mobile phone - including a charger, battery, data cable, manuals, and stereo headset.
Furthermore, an extension of the rumors about the Google Nexus S also hints that the handset will probably be offered with service from fourth-place wireless carrier and noted Google BFF T-Mobile.
However, a Google spokesman refrained from either confirming or denying the rumors about the Nexus S; and told The Reg: "We don't comment on rumor or speculation."
