Toronto area Rogers stores start receiving dummy units of white BlackBerry 9780

In what marks the arrival of new colored handsets in the Toronto area, Rogers stores have started receiving dummy units of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and Bold 9780 in a modish white color.

Colored phone aficionados have been eagerly awaiting the white versions of Torch 9800 and Bold 9780 handsets, especially after rumours about their likely arrival began circulating over the summer; and, obviously, these white BlackBerry versions will be looking good for the forthcoming holiday season.

The key features of the white BlackBerry models include: an HVGA display screen; a 642 MHz processor; 512 MB of RAM; a 5-megapixel camera; and its networking capabilities include 3G, Wireless LAN and a GPS receiver.

In addition, the two handsets will also feature a revamped edition of the BlackBerry Operating System with universal search, a WebKit browser, and a few notable improvements in the user interface (UI).

While Bell is also offering the white model of the Bold 9780, but the white model of the Torch 9800 will apparently be exclusive to Rogers, at least in Canada. Interested customers can hit up the Rogers online store if they want to grab these handsets - the Bold will cost $149.99; and the Torch has been priced at $229.99 with a three-year plan.
